This guitar was started sometime around 2020 with the hope of making a guitar on my own terms with one of my favorite woods, padauk. Padauk posses so many wonderful qualities that make for a great tonewood - resonant, light weight, stable - I knew it would make a for a great guitar. And that it did! The back and sides were constructed and assembled in 2020 and then I finally got around to making the soundboard ahead of the BIG guitar gathering in Texas in 2025. So fortunately, it was made with my most recent standards for soundboard construction, and updated bridge and headstock design. The top is a beautiful piece of Lutz spruce which is lightweight, strong, and very efficient. Finished off with a “barely there” minimalist oil finish, it has a very woody, fast, responsive tone.
